| The
trek into the area below the massive
south face of Annapurna, known
as the Annapurna Sanctuary, is
one of the most popular treks
in Nepal. The trek begins in Pokhara
and leads up through the breathtaking
Modi Khola gorge into the vast
mountain ringed amphitheatre of
the Sanctuary. Trek passes through
bamboo and rhododendron forests
with superb views of the Annapurna
range. Pass between the mountains
of Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli
guard the entrance to the Sanctuary,
and after 6 days reach the goal,
the high glacial basin that is
the site of the Annapurna south
face base camp. This is a classic
trek, which allows access to the
high mountains of the Himalaya
within a reasonable timeframe
and with a maximum altitude of
4000m.

Jomson Muktinath Trek, renound
as a skyline trek, is one of the
best of Annapurna region. It follows
the Kali Gandaki valley between
the soaring peaks of Annapurna
and Dhaulagiri and then emerges
north of the main Himalayan range,
on the dry desert like Tibetan
Plateau. This trek is highly recommended
as an alternative to the longer
trek around Annapurna. Staying
at lower altitudes but nonetheless
offering the same breathing mountains
views of the areas as experience
trekking through the Himalaya
and enter the arid landscape of
upper Kali Gandaki Valley.
The final destination of the trek
is the holy temple of Muktinath,
the sacred pilgrimage of Hindu’s
and Buddhist’s, with great
religious significance. After
a day walk back to Jomson, return
to Pokhara either by stepping
down to Kali Gandaki valley or
flying from Jomson. This easy
trek can be done any time of the
year except monsoon Season [July
& August].

Siklis trek is relatively 'tourist-traffic-free'
route in Annapurna region. The
trek is an easy one without any
altitude problem. The joys of
traveling through the beautiful,
unspoiled villages with the backdrop
of the mountains are quite an
experience. This fabulous trek
takes us about a week, starting
at Beganas Lake and heading north
to the Madi river, then following
the river''s west bank up to well-preserved
Siklesh the biggest Gurung village.
From here we strike westwards
over the thickly forested ridge
that separates the Madi and Seti
Khola drainage’s and then
descent via Ghachok, another Gurung
settlement, to reach the Highway.

The Royal
Trek Created for Prince
Charles, is the perfect introduction
to trekking or a great way to
fit a bit of trekking into a short
visit. This short trek follows
the path along the foothills of
Annapurna, north of Pokhara valley.
Starting from Kalikastan ridge,
about 25 km from Pokhara the trek
passes through beautiful Gurung
villages and terraced farmland
overlooking magnificent Annapurna
range, Machapuchhere [fishtail
peak] Langtang Himal etc. and
finally end at Begnas Lake which
is about 30 km west of Pokhara
City. This
trip is basically recommended
for the beginners or those who
have very limited time looking
for an opportunity to experience
the taste of trekking holidays
in the Himalaya. The entire trek
is rather easy with occasional
up and downhill walks along the
ridges and valleys without having
to worry about altitude and acclimatization
as the maximum ascent on this
trek is Chisapani at 1260 meter.
However, this is also a good option
to extend cultural tour of Kathmandu,
Pokhara & Chitwan by combining
this trek to get the overall taste
of Nepal.
