Chitwan National Park:

Chitwan National Park is the most popular destination for tourists wanting to have a good experience of the region's wildlife. It was declared a National Park in 1973. In 1984, UNESCO designated it as a Natural World Heritage Site. The Park offers protection to 50 species of mammals including the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wild elephant, striped hyena, Gangetic dolphin and wild bison. There are an estimated 50 species of mammals, over 526 species of birds, 126 species of fish,150 species of butterflies and 49 species of reptiles in the park! A recent study also points out that over a third of Nepal's tigers are in Chitwan.

The Park is spread over an area of 932 sq kms and located in the lowlands of the kingdom. The forest cover is predominantly sal, interspersed with tall grasslands, small bills, ox- bow lakes and flood plains.

Bardia National Park:

This 968 square kilometers reserve is reminiscent in many ways of Royal Chitwan National Park. Here is higher likelihood of seeing a royal Bengal tiger. The reserve is bordered to the north by Chure hills, but is predominantly flat and dominated by sal forests and grassland. As well as tigers, there are blue bulls, a variety of deer, a few wild elephant and a small heard of introduced rhinoceros. It is generally known as the best place where your chances of spotting a tiger in Nepal are the highest (even Chitwan comes a second!). Other animals include the rhinoceros, swamp deer, leopards, jungle cats, blue bulls (nilgai), sloth bears, barking deer and langurs. There are a few wild elephants here and one of the males is considered the largest in Asia!

The Geruwa river that rushes in through a break in the hill range, silt laden and full with snowmelt, is home to the famous Mahseer game fish, gharial, mugger crocodile and the freshwater Gangetic dolphin. The park also has cobras, kraits and pythons. The park boasts more than 250 species of birds, including the endangered Bengal florican, Sarus crane and many species of geese, ducks and parakeets.

Wildlife safari  includes:

There are a wide variety of jungle activities available in both national parks. Elephant rides are the best way to explore wildlife in their natural habitat. One horned Rhino, different types of deer, wild boar, wild bison, monkeys, sloth bear, leopard, and Royal Bengal Tiger (if lucky) etc. can be seen during ride. Jeep safaris are also available for those who don't feel like riding atop an elephant. The slow growl of open jeeps, the sights and sounds of animals in the wild can be an unforgettable experience. Others might enjoy a jungle walk with an experienced guide who can tell you all about the wildlife and vegetation that is unique to the Terai region.Especially, bird watching is always best on foot. Guides will help you to spot and identify different varieties of birds, both local and migratory, that are found in Nepal.  Canoeing on the Rapti or Narayani rivers is a great way to see the many different bird species of Chitwan. And there's always the rare chance that you can see the elusive freshwater Gangetic dolphins that inhabit the rivers. It is also the best for the sighting crocodiles and other aquatic creatures. All of these activities are included in your jungle package. Besides this,

Elephant Breeding Centre visit:
Among, world's  two elephant-breeding centers,  one lies in the Chitwan National Park.  You will have an opportunity to visit the breeding centre, learn about the efforts to increase elephant population and  see several cow elephants and their calves on domesticated form.

Village Walk: The jungle scenery, birds and animals alone do not make up the unique features of Chitwan National Park. The indigenous local people, the Tharus, are also of immense interest. A professional guide will accompany to insights the way of life of the Tharu people.

Tharu Cultural Program: A cultural program performed by the Tharus is another highlight of the visit. The Tharus in colourful traditional costumes, unique in their disparity with the common mode of dress, are sure to captivate you.
